I went to a podiatrist and got some xrays done. He said I only need about a centimeter of length. I hope he's right. He also said he doesn't do the procedure but he referred me to a doctor out in Boston who does. I got an appointment with the new doctor this Monday. I am excited but nervous at the same time. I hope he allows for weight bearing. I would like to have the surgery done after the holidays.

Congrats on finding someone to do the procedure locally that is often a difficult task. I hope all goes well.  My ex-fix surgery is scheduled for Dec 30 so maybe we'll be having it done around the same time :-D

I went to the specialist out in Boston today and he took some new xrays. I found out that he actually does the one-stage procedure as well and he thinks I am a great candidate for it because I only need about 1 cm of length. I am so excited!! This means no fixator and no turning!! I am scheduling my surgery for after the holidays this way I am not hobbling around on crutches for christmas. I am just glad that I was able to find a surgeon familiar with this condition that is local. It saves me a lot of money of having to travel across the country to Dr Lee as I had originally planned.
