I had a  bunion removed on my right foot and the doctor did a bone fusion too as he said the large toe joint was very loose.

That was May 22, 2008. I am now weight bearing about 3 weeks and I have to say the foot in general is not a foot I can walk  on comfortably. And the longer I walk on it, the more pain I have felt in the area where there was a bone fusion.

At times I have had to limp! Is this normal?

Thank you!:X

If you had fusion of the first metatarsal phalangeal joint then limping may be typical if you've only been walking for 3 weeks.  Give it some time, like 2 -3 months.
